Leon has been with us since graduating from Massey back in 2010, he enjoys all aspects of being a vet but has a special interest in working dog medicine and orthopaedics. When not working he pretends to like hunting, fishing and mountain biking but in reality spends most of his spare time with his two young kids who keep him very busy.
Leon took over as CEO in December 2023.
Started at EDVS in March ’94.
Teresa works as a mixed animal veterinarian, with the majority of her work with dairy cows and small animals. She has a special interest in calf rearing, Johnes Disease, companion animal ophthalmology, and soft tissue surgery.
Outside of work she rears calves and helps run the 300 cow dairy farm she owns with her husband Shawn. She likes to travel, tramp and keep fit.
Jim joined our team in 2003 after running his own succesful practice in Stratford for 10 years. Jim amazes us each day with his enthusiasm, capacity for work and good humour. A vet with vast experience in equine and dairy medicine, Jim is an invaluable addition to our team and always ready for a chat about racing, rugby and politics. Jim works 4 days a week and refuses to retire.
A Taranaki boy raised on a dairy farm east of Midhirst, Lindsay finished Massey end of 1976, coming straight to Eltham to join a Dutchman, an Englishman and an Irishman as the only kiwi in a then 4 vet practice.
After an enjoyable 18 year stint here, he left for theological study and 9 years as a baptist pastor, returning to Eltham Vets again in 2009 initially for 3 days a week, then fulltime until recently going down to 4 days a week.
(Allowing him more time to enjoy grandparenting and motorhoming.)
Adrian has worked at Eltham Vets since 2007 when he arrived straight from Massey after graduation. He enjoys all aspects of veterinary work but has a particular interest in surgery and mastitis investigations. Outside of work he spends a lot of time with his wife and two kids and can often be found out hunting, fishing or running or creating charcuterie magic.
Holly has worked in the naki since graduation minus a few stints to travel and have her two boys. She enjoys the variation of mixed practice and has an interest in ruminant nutrition and herd health.
Ryan grew up in Northland on a kiwifruit orchard, graduated from vet school in 2011 then stayed on working as a vet in the Manawatu for 10 years before coming up to the greener pastures of the Taranaki. He is keen on all aspects of vet work, variety is the spice of life after all, but he particularly enjoys dairy repro and mastitis.
Hi, I’m Hannah, one of the new grads who have just joined Eltham’s amazing team of vets.
I come from the kiwifruit capital of the work a.k.a. Te Puke but grew up on an idyllic dairy farm right next to the beach.
I like to get a taste of anything outdoors, whether it be surfing, diving, climbing a mountain or just a good roadie to see the sights, hence the ‘Naki felt like a good move for me!
I enjoy both small and large animal medicine, with a soft spot for lifestyle animals. I can’t wait to get stuck into working up a good ‘smallies’ case or tackling a difficult calving.
Jack was born and bred in Taranaki, thanks to one of Eltham’s very own vets. He grew up on a farm under the mountain before completing vet school, making the pilgrimage home and starting work at Eltham in 2023. He is working as a mixed vet focusing on both large and small animals.
He spends his spare time up the mountain, on his mountain bike, or at the beaches or lakes around the region and North Island.
Johanna Vicary - Locum Veternarian
I’m Johanna and I’ll be locuming as a farm animal vet for Eltham vets over Spring. Originally a Yorkshire lass, I graduated from The University of Edinburgh in 2016 and I worked in the north of Scotland for a few years before spreading my wings across the world where I’ve spent the last 4 years learning to be a kiwi dairy vet down in sunny Southland! I’ve come to see if the grass is greener (or not!) on the North Island so say hello if you see me out on farm with my trusty sidekick, Nessie.
